Why begin here?
At OMS, drum study generally begins around age seven. When a younger child is fascinated by drums, we may recommend beginning with piano first so rhythm, reading, listening, and coordinated movement can develop on an age-appropriate foundation.
Our drum teachers are trained professional musicians with different stylistic backgrounds. They are deeply invested in the program and in helping young students, teenagers, adult beginners, and returning players find a musical direction that feels exciting and sustainable.
